This workshop series will provide participants with an overview of risks and complications associated with unnecessary NTSV Cesarean-sections, coding and documentation guidelines for inpatient and outpatient settings, and the implications coding rules, conventions and guidelines have on clinical quality and financial metrics.

 

WORKSHOP SERIES OBJECTIVES:

  • Provide participants with an overview of implications of Nulliparous, Term, Singleton, Vertex  (NTSV) in low risk mothers (Program I).

  • Describe conditions of pregnancy and those that complicate delivery (Program II).

  • Gain an understanding of pregnancy-related conditions vs. pre-existing conditions (Program II).

  • Review rules and guidelines for obstetric (OB) diagnosis and procedure coding (Programs I, II and III).

  • Apply the knowledge with assessment questions and coding exercises (Programs I, II, and III).

CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS

This Workshop Series has been pre-approved for six (6) AAPC CEUs and qualifies for six (6) AHIMA CEUs according to their guidelines on certification.

Here is the course outline:

1. NTSV Program 1 Module 1: What is NTSV

This workshop series will provide participants with an overview of risks and complications associated with unnecessary NTSV Cesarean-sections, coding and documentation guidelines for inpatient and outpatient settings, and the implications coding rules, conventions and guidelines have on clinical quality and financial metrics.

2. NTSV Program I Module 2: Quality and Correct Coding

This workshop series will provide participants with an overview of risks and complications associated with unnecessary NTSV Cesarean-sections, coding and documentation guidelines for inpatient and outpatient settings, and the implications coding rules, conventions and guidelines have on clinical quality and financial metrics.

3. NTSV Program I Module 3: The Medical Record as a Source Document

This workshop series will provide participants with an overview of risks and complications associated with unnecessary NTSV Cesarean-sections, coding and documentation guidelines for inpatient and outpatient settings, and the implications coding rules, conventions and guidelines have on clinical quality and financial metrics.

4. NTSV Program II Module 1: Recap of the Coding Rules

This workshop series will provide participants with an overview of risks and complications associated with unnecessary NTSV Cesarean-sections, coding and documentation guidelines for inpatient and outpatient settings, and the implications coding rules, conventions and guidelines have on clinical quality and financial metrics.

5. NTSV Program II Module 2: What is an Obstetrical Complication

This workshop series will provide participants with an overview of risks and complications associated with unnecessary NTSV Cesarean-sections, coding and documentation guidelines for inpatient and outpatient settings, and the implications coding rules, conventions and guidelines have on clinical quality and financial metrics.

6. NTSV Program II Module 3: Pre-existing vs. Pregnancy-Related Conditions

This workshop series will provide participants with an overview of risks and complications associated with unnecessary NTSV Cesarean-sections, coding and documentation guidelines for inpatient and outpatient settings, and the implications coding rules, conventions and guidelines have on clinical quality and financial metrics.

7. NTSV Program II Module 4: Conditions Affecting Pregnancy vs. Conditions Complicating Delivery

This workshop series will provide participants with an overview of risks and complications associated with unnecessary NTSV Cesarean-sections, coding and documentation guidelines for inpatient and outpatient settings, and the implications coding rules, conventions and guidelines have on clinical quality and financial metrics.

8. NTSV Program II Module 5: Post-partum Conditions

This workshop series will provide participants with an overview of risks and complications associated with unnecessary NTSV Cesarean-sections, coding and documentation guidelines for inpatient and outpatient settings, and the implications coding rules, conventions and guidelines have on clinical quality and financial metrics.

9. NTSV Program II Module 6: Diagnosis (ICD-10-CM coding) Exercises

This workshop series will provide participants with an overview of risks and complications associated with unnecessary NTSV Cesarean-sections, coding and documentation guidelines for inpatient and outpatient settings, and the implications coding rules, conventions and guidelines have on clinical quality and financial metrics.

10. NTSV Program III Module 1: Root Operations

This workshop series will provide participants with an overview of risks and complications associated with unnecessary NTSV Cesarean-sections, coding and documentation guidelines for inpatient and outpatient settings, and the implications coding rules, conventions and guidelines have on clinical quality and financial metrics.

11. NTSV Program III Module 2: Induction vs. Augmentation of Labor

This workshop series will provide participants with an overview of risks and complications associated with unnecessary NTSV Cesarean-sections, coding and documentation guidelines for inpatient and outpatient settings, and the implications coding rules, conventions and guidelines have on clinical quality and financial metrics.

12. NTSV Program III Module 3: Delivery and Procedures Assisting Delivery

This workshop series will provide participants with an overview of risks and complications associated with unnecessary NTSV Cesarean-sections, coding and documentation guidelines for inpatient and outpatient settings, and the implications coding rules, conventions and guidelines have on clinical quality and financial metrics.

13. NTSV Program III Module 4: Procedure (ICD-10-PCS) Exercises

This workshop series will provide participants with an overview of risks and complications associated with unnecessary NTSV Cesarean-sections, coding and documentation guidelines for inpatient and outpatient settings, and the implications coding rules, conventions and guidelines have on clinical quality and financial metrics.

14. NTSV Program III Module 5: Bringing it All Together

This workshop series will provide participants with an overview of risks and complications associated with unnecessary NTSV Cesarean-sections, coding and documentation guidelines for inpatient and outpatient settings, and the implications coding rules, conventions and guidelines have on clinical quality and financial metrics.
